Reduce the risk of listeriosis for pregnant women<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This rare and generally benign illness can be serious for pregnant women, unborn babies, the elderly and immunodepressed patients.<\/p>\n

It is transmitted by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes.<\/p>\n

At mealtime, avoid the following for 9 months:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2013 certain seafoods: raw shellfish, smoked fish, surimi, tarama.<\/p>\n

\u2013 certain deli meats: rillettes, p\u00e2t\u00e9s, foie gras, jellied products.<\/p>\n

For deli products such as ham, choose pre-packaged products which are less likely to be contaminated.<\/p>\n
